Wasps Rugby Discussion / The Ruck
« on: April 30, 2020, 09:05:38 AM »
Both speculative articles but one suggests that Ash hasn't reached an agreement with Wasps. Also a rehash around our fly half stock, and is pure speculation and flights of fancy, some more rehashing of the Freddie Burns story. There is a real lack of Wasps intel. out there, so it looks like The Ruck is creating some click-bait.

We need to sign him up for beyond this season, article implies it is ongoing. He has been a great player for us and should continue to be, I hope he slots into the coaching team as has a great rugby brain.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Coach's Challenge

https://www.rugbypass.com/news/exclusive-bring-in-nfl-style-coachs-challenge-is-the-call-from-top-english-club-chiefs/

When Wasps were beaten 28-22 at home by Harlequins last month, a possible game winning try opportunity was lost when Elia Elia, the Quins hooker emerged from the maul with the ball to clear the danger with just two minutes remaining. Anger at the time could not influence the decision which RugbyPass understands was later seen as a mistake and should have been a penalty try and yellow card. If a coach’s challenge had been in place, Wasps would have called for a ruling at that time with the help of the TMO.

Interesting idea and perhaps one I would support, first time I have read that the Elia Elia rip from the maul vs. Harlequins was actually viewed as a mistake.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Lima to Lyon?
« on: December 17, 2019, 06:47:06 AM »
https://www.hugerugby.news/rugby-transfer-rumours/sexton-linked-with-leinster-exit/

Ignore the URL but read to this part;

However, if Lyon miss out on Sexton the report states that they have Wasps’ Lima Sopoaga and Kubota Spears’ Bernard Foley in mind, although the latter has only just moved to Japan and may not want to move again so quickly.

There could be some truth here as he is coming to the end of his initial two years at the end of this season, and moving to France would be logical and lucrative, if true I wonder what Lyon have seen that makes them think he is worth a look. Goal kicking aside he has been committed, but sadly average for us. I will watch with interest as Lima does have a habit as we have seen, of reacting to rumours pretty quickly.

Brad looking doubtful and Tibo still undergoing the necessary HIA protocols. We are in serious trouble with the second row as we head towards the Edinburgh fixture. Am I missing something or do we only have Tim Cardall and Theo available?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / SISU Selling Up?
« on: November 05, 2019, 06:57:34 AM »
https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-takeover-interest-al-hasawi-17199709

Former Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi is looking to get back involved in English football and Coventry City are reportedly on his radar.

The ex-Forest owner with a penchant for swinging the managerial axe – getting through eight managers in four years – was linked with an interest in purchasing troubled League One outfit Bolton Wanderers during the summer when the Trotters were close to going out of business.

All supposition, and worryingly could be a case of frying pan to fire for Coventry City if it takes place.
